Newsairy 1.13 is here, and most of it is something you can’t see. The way Newsairy shares state between its screens has been rebuilt from the ground up. It’s the plumbing that decides what each view knows, and when it updates — and it’s now cleaner and easier to build on. You shouldn’t notice a single change there, and that’s exactly the goal: everything opens and works the way it always has, only on steadier foundations. Newsairy 1.12 is here, and it makes adding a feed a lot simpler. Adding a feed used to mean knowing the feed’s address — which often meant digging through a site’s footer, or through its page source. Now you can paste the address of the website itself and let Newsairy find the feeds for you: it reads the page, collects what it offers, and shows you what it found. Sites often publish more than one feed — the articles and the comments, for instance — so when there’s a choice, you make it. ...

Newsairy 1.11 is here, and it’s about reading the whole thing. Some feeds only send you the first paragraph. A new button in the article view fetches the full text and shows it right there, in your theme, your font and your text size — no browser, no layout jumping around, no cookie banners. Tap it again to go back to what the feed sent. It all happens on your device: Newsairy fetches the page, keeps the words, and throws the rest away. ...

Newsairy 1.10 is here, and it’s about getting a closer look. Tap any image in an article to open it in a new full-screen viewer, where you can zoom in for a closer look — handy for charts, screenshots and photo-heavy feeds. The article list gets clearer, too. Dates now adapt to how recent an article is: just the time for today, the weekday and time within the last week, and a full date for anything older — all localised to your region. Avatars also get a subtle background so they stand out, and a couple of rough edges are gone: titles next to a thumbnail are no longer cut short, and the sidebar shows its loading spinner again. ...

Newsairy 1.09 is here, and it’s about clearing your list without lifting a finger. A new Mark as Read on Scroll option lets the list clear itself as you read: articles are marked read once they scroll past the top — no tapping, no swiping. It keeps up even with fast flings, so nothing slips past unmarked, and it resets cleanly when you switch filters so it never touches what’s still off-screen. Turn it on in Settings → Behaviour; it’s off by default. ...

A small maintenance release focused on iCloud sync. Fixed Fixed an iCloud sync issue so your articles and read state stay consistent across your devices.

Newsairy 1.08 is here, and it’s all about how you move through your reading. Two new time-based Smart Feeds join the existing 24/48/72-hour views: Last 7 days (a rolling week) and This week (from the start of the current week to now). The week’s first day follows your device’s region by default, but a new Settings → Calendar option lets you override it to Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. ...

Newsairy 1.07 adds support for another aggregator: Inoreader. Inoreader is a popular cloud RSS service. If you use it, you can now connect your account to Newsairy — your subscriptions, read state, and starred articles sync in both directions across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Signing in happens on Inoreader’s own secure login page, so Newsairy never sees your password. Inoreader sync is part of Newsairy Pro.

Newsairy 1.06 is here, and it’s all about reading. Tune how articles look in the in-app preview. A new Font & Size panel lets you pick the typeface — from a curated set of readable fonts, or any font installed on your device — and choose between the system Dynamic Type size or a fully manual setup with title size, body size, and line spacing. Reach it from the preview’s text-format button or from Settings → Reading. ...

Newsairy 1.05 is here, and it’s all about Custom Smart Feeds. Create your own keyword-based feeds that pull together matching articles from across all your sources. Give each one a name, a custom color, and one or more keywords — any article with at least one keyword in its title, summary, or content shows up there. Just like the built-in Smart Feeds, they carry an unread count badge and support the usual read / unread / starred filters. ...

A refinements release, with a couple of small additions and some fixes. New Mark all articles as read directly from the Articles List view. Feed subtitle now shows the time of the last update. Fixed Small UI improvements: keyboard toolbar corners are now properly rounded, and the Delete action on Smart Folders shows the correct color. Under some circumstances articles could bounce back to unread after being marked as read. Corrected some incorrect URLs in the Curated Starter Feeds.

This update is a big one! Feedbin joins TheOldReader, Miniflux, and FreshRSS. If you use Feedbin, you can now connect it to Newsairy — subscriptions, read state, and starred articles sync in both directions across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Feedbin sync is part of Newsairy Pro. Customise your Article List: toggle the favicon, the unread indicator dot, and the number of preview lines (now from 0 to 6, previously 2 or 6). A small change that makes a noticeable difference if you like a cleaner or a more information-dense view. Reader mode: a new setting lets you always open full articles directly in reader mode, without having to switch manually each time. Mark all as read: a context menu action lets you mark all articles in a feed as read in one go. Miniflux auto refresh: Miniflux sync can now request a refresh of your feeds automatically on the server side, so articles are ready when you open the app.

This update brings two new features: FreshRSS support Newsairy now connects to FreshRSS, the free, self-hostable feed aggregator. If you run your own FreshRSS instance, you can now sync it directly with Newsairy. Flexible thumbnail sizes in the Articles List You can now choose how thumbnails appear in the Articles List: no thumbnail, small, medium, or wide. Pick the layout that suits your reading style.
