The PhotInfo app is developed and maintained by Enrico Bonaldo (“me”). Your privacy is important to me. PhotInfo has no server component and does not collect or transmit your personal information. All data processed by the app remains local on your device and will be automatically deleted if you remove the app. The app does not contain third-party analytics or tracking services.

In fact, this app is not in the business of doing anything with your data. I believe such information is yours and yours alone. I do not store or transmit your personal details, nor do I include any advertising or analytics software that talks to third parties, even in the free app.

Permissions

PhotInfo requests the following iOS system permissions to operate as intended:

Photos Library: You can choose to grant access to your entire photo library or select specific photos. The app needs this permission to read and write image data and metadata. iOS allows you to control the level of access: Full Access (all photos) or Limited Access (selected photos only).

Current Location: To display your current location on the map when you edit location metadata.

Data Shared with Third Parties

When you use the reverse geocoding feature to convert geographic coordinates into human-readable addresses, the photo location coordinates are sent to Apple’s servers to perform this translation. No other information is transmitted. This service is provided by Apple and is subject to Apple’s privacy policy. You can choose not to use this feature if you prefer to keep location coordinates private.

Data Retention and Deletion

All data generated during app operation (including temporary files, cached images, and preferences) is stored locally on your device. Aside from the location coordinates sent to Apple for address translation (when you use that feature), no data is transmitted to external servers or shared with third parties. All app data is automatically deleted when you uninstall PhotInfo.

Your Rights

Since PhotInfo does not collect or store your personal data on external servers, you maintain complete control over your information at all times. You can manage photo access permissions at any time through iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos.
