This website is a refreshed version of the original PhotInfo site. When building this new website, I had a clear set of goals in mind: speed, privacy, simplicity, and flexibility. After careful consideration, choosing a static site was the perfect fit for these priorities.

In this renewal, I migrated all previous posts and content from the old site (https://qebapps.wordpress.com/) and expanded the blog section. Previously, the blog started with one article on the old site, but here it becomes a full-fledged section on its own.

Fast and Reliable

A static site delivers content directly from the server without running code or making database queries for each visit. This provides a smooth and responsive experience. With fewer moving parts, site reliability is greatly improved.

Respectful of Privacy

Privacy is fundamental here. Static sites inherently avoid tracking visitors or collecting personal information. There are no cookies, no analytics, and no third-party trackers embedded—your browsing stays private.

No Ads or Tracking

You won’t find ads or hidden tracking scripts on this site. The focus is purely on content, without distractions or data collection.

Simple to Manage and Maintain

Static sites have minimal maintenance overhead. Content updates are straightforward, secure, and quick, enabling me to focus on delivering value without technical complexity.

Great Customizability

Using Hugo, the site remains highly customizable. This allowed preserving all old content seamlessly while introducing new features like the developer notes section.

In summary, relaunching the PhotInfo website as a static site allowed me to make it faster, more privacy-respecting, easier to manage, and highly customizable—while seamlessly integrating all the content from the original site and expanding it with a new blog section. It’s a refreshed site that grows alongside PhotInfo itself.
